Larnaca offers an old world charm, especially along its famous palm lined promenade - the Phinoukinides where you could be forgiven for thinking you were in the South of France. Behind the promenade is a maze of winding old streets and the church of Ayios Lazarus where the remains of Lazarus are said to be buried.

Larnacas' hotels strech out either side of the town centre and we have picked two of the best to feature on our site. There are also long stretches of sandy beaches to laze away the sunny days, or if you want to take a day trip, visit the Halle Sultan Tekke on Larnaca's salt lake - one of the primary sacred spots of Islam. (On this spot, It is said that Mohammeds mother fell of her donkey and broke her neck on this spot and there is now a picturesque mosque here in her honour).

All in all, Larnaca offers a very central location for your wedding or honeymoon where you can explore Cyprus, from its beaches to its monasteries its pine forests to its cities.
